Dallas recruiting
Posted: Mon Jun 19, 2000 11:21 amOK, I've been reading that Hillcrest HS has a group of 6-8 legit Div. I-A players who are graduating this season, and if that's true, we NEED to get these guys. Maybe some of them won't qualify academically, but we can not let all the top local talent get away. Does anyone know which assistant coach recruits Hillcrest (or maybe recruits North Dallas)? Good recruiter? From what I hear, Ryan Gilbert (plays QB and DB at Hillcrest, being recruited by a lot of top colleges as an athlete) may not have the grades to get in. But several others should qualify. How do we get these kids? Maybe if we can get a bunch of SMU fans/alums to go to all the Hillcrest games wearing SMU colors, it will keep us in the backs of their minds. But we clearly have to do more than that. Ideas?
