It's not yet confirmed, but there is a rumor that Greenville (Texas) quarterback/KICKER Jake Jackson is heading to SMU in the fall.
Can anyone confirm? Or know any of the vitals (kicking stats, longest field goal, etc.)?

Re: Rumor of another commitmentrivals.com has us in a battle with Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor for this kid.
Name: Jake Jackson Position: Kicker Height: 5' 9" Weight: 145 High School: Greenville Hometown: Greenville, TX Ranking: #46 K
Re: Rumor of another commitmentI saw this guy play against Corsicana last week, and he'd be a kicker before he'd be our QB. One of his extra points got blocked, and returned for a defensive PAT. The kid that blocked it, Danieal Manning, is a cornerback that shut down Greenville's wr. Manning looked like he ran a 4.4 or better. Blazing speed. But Jake might be a good kicker.
Re: Rumor of another commitmentIs he the 46th ranked kicker in Texas or in the nation? Anybody have any real stats on this guy?
Re: Rumor of another commitmentI imagine that's 46th in the state, but I don't know that.
Houston Pony: Got a name or stats on that Greenville WR? Anyone who runs a 4.4 should be at SMU.
Re: Rumor of another commitmentCorso,
The Coriscana db's name was Danieal Manning. Lightning in a bottle. I haven't scoured the web looking for info on him, though, so he might be taken. He's a player, though. From what I saw, I think any team would love to have him. Maybe we could be a draw for him: close to home, chance to play early, good education, blah blah blah. I wasn't particularly impressed with the wideout that he shut down, though. I'll check when I get home for you. [This message has been edited by Houston Pony (edited 11-29-2000).]
