A name in Texas that recruiting fans haven't been talking a lot about is Marlin, Texas, safety Jeremy Modkins. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder with 4.40-second speed in the 40-yard dash already has racked up scholarship offers from Baylor, New Mexico and Kansas and is getting regular calls from TCU, A&M, Arkansas, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas Tech and Nebraska. "Most teams like me at safety," he said. "But I do play on offense, too." Modkins has been hampered by a pulled hamstring the past two games, but is expected to return to the field on Friday night. "I'm starting to get excited about recruiting," he said. "I really don't have any leaders. I just want to see what the teams have to offer first."
