Highland Park has an offensive lineman named Kyle Williams who will be a senior this fall. He's 6-foot-7 and 269 pounds, and has been compared to former SMU (and UCLA) star Dave Richards. Apparently the HP practices have been crawling with college coaches, from (among others) SMU, USC, UCLA, Washington State, Stanford, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Clemson, Virginia and Baylor.

Nine schools already have offered him a scholarship. No word (yet) whether SMU is among the nine.

Apparently he's a good kid and a hard worker. His coach is saying all the positive things coaches say about top recruits. And he lives within spitting distance of Ford Stadium. He needs to end up a Mustang.

My son attends HP, and says Kyle is a great kid who knows he's good but seems to have his head screwed on straight and seems to value a good education. We NEED him.

How nice would it be to see a 6-7 behemoth on the line for the next four or five years? Get all over him. Keep him home, where he belongs....

Damn. DMN says his top five schools (didn't list any order) are Arizona State, Washington, Texas A&M, USC and Neuter Dame.
