I agree with Corso. Coach Schumann is a good guy and may be the best coach out there. He may have just been letting the kid know that there is going to be a lot of competetion for DB's and if he is not up to the challenge this is the time for the kid to consider his options. But like Corso said, work your butt off and show your stuff when and as you can...Schumann is not blind, he will notice talent and determination.

SMU has as much need for dbacks as anybody in D-1 judging by the past couple years. Should be a good opportunity for a walk-on. Shumann is a heck of defensive coach and a class guy, I doubt he would discourage any player purposely from what I have seen of him. I wonder if he was distinguishing between cornerback and safety positions. SMU also uses relatively small, but quick linebackers. Could be an opportunity there.

If BJ Williams, Justin Williams and Jarrian James can make the switch to LB from safety -- despite relying on speed to overcome being relatively small -- who's to say Billups can't make the same transition? Keep up the hard work, it will pay off. Can't wait to see the Billups brothers together at SMU.
