bummer. Coach Rob indicated his guys want to play together too. I understand the alure of the Big 12, but seems like we have more to offer than Iowa State. The NFL scouts never missed a good player because they went to SMU, ask Donald Mitchell, Jac Rhinehart and Bordano.

We all know our coaches have to work hard to keep Billups, Gilmore and Denman committed, because other coaches still have 6 months to recruit and try to get our guys to change their minds. Likewise, our coaches have 6 months to stay on players like Jimmy, who need to come to their senses and sign with the Ponies. Our coaches can show them the light and change their minds.

I can certainly understand why Morris might not have a high level of interest in SMU. Our coaches are probably looking at positional needs and we are pretty well stocked at LB with guys his size & speed.

In my mind, our greatest needs exist on both lines. We really need to get Ford & Billups in here next year to add depth to the DL. Then we need to find some OL who can help us out. If we aren't two deep on both lines with guys who can contribute, we're going to have a tough time being competitive no matter who we're playing against.

With the rumors going around that Markus Pratt might not be eligible, think there's any way we can let Corey Ford play his games for Skyline on Friday nights and then have him suit up for us on Saturdays? We have some bodies at DT, and while we certainly can stand to improve there, we're looking dangerously thin at DE. Corey Ford is a HUGE priority for us right now.
