Corey Ford status?

Postby Charleston Pony » Mon Oct 22, 2001 10:35 pm

with all these commitments from DL starting to pile up, does this mean we've given up on being able to sign Corey Ford? I thought he remained interested and was considering taking the SAT again in order to qualify. It appears we are getting some commitments from some "beefy" tackles, but what about some quick DE types to round this class out? Any word from anyone who knows what Corey might be thinking? Coach Rob??

Corey is close to making a decision, but hasn't let me know which way he is leaning.
Top 3 appear to be Iowa St., SMU, and Baylor(the order doesn't mean anything)

Thanks, coach. Come on, Corey. Stay at home and play in front of family & friends. Be a part of turning this program around. It won't take much improvement for SMU to be making a run at WAC championships whereas Iowa St & Baylor have light years to go before they will compete for a Big XII title. That's not to mention the contacts you can make at SMU, assuming you plan tto make Dallas your home after graduation.

Coach, thanks for the input. Do us a favor: Drag Corey into your office and let him read PonyFans.com. Show him how much we want him at SMU.

Corey, we need you at SMU, and you need to go to SMU. The career contacts you'll make here are unmatched, and you'll get to play in front of friends and family at every home game, and some of your road games are in reach for your friends and family, too. Look at this year's class -- you can be a part of something great here at SMU. Look at the linemen who have committed already. Within a year or two we're going to be the team that pushes teams around, and we want you to be a star at SMU. Think about it - you'll be a star in a stadium with your name already on it!
