This Johnson kid sounds too good to be true. Has anyone seen him play? Is he as good as people are making him out to be?

I've never seen him play, but I HAVE seen him. Everyone who was excited about Sterling Harris' physique will forget him instanly on the first glimpse of Johnson. This kid makes Harris look like a rag doll.

At 18 years (or whatever) this kid already looks like Greg Ellis. He's one of those guys you line up against and think to yourself, "I've gotta block THAT?!?" He's 270 and pretty lean. After redshirting a year and if he stays on defense, he'll play at a svelte 310.

Make this kid the first guy off the bus. We've recruited a monster. Line him up with Billups at DT and you've got a wrecking crew in a few years.

Fansonly.com shows that Chris Poulos, 6'3" 275 pound offensive lineman from Arlington has decommitted from Rice and committed to the Ponies. I haven't seen any mention of this on the board or in the paper. Anyone have any information on this. Brent Karrington also shows on this list as a current commitment!

Is Karrington a scholarship or walk-on commitment? This is Beau Brooks all over again. Brooks was a walk-on DE from Highland Park a couple of years ago. Great kid, worked his tail off, and never played before giving up football. Hope Karrington proves me wrong, but I wonder if this is a reach.

Of course, it never hurts to re-open the HP-to-SMU pipeline.

I was told by a coach that we had 19 total, and were going for 21 because of the 85 limit. 12 out of 13 recruits from the previous weekend either were already committed or committed. (That included Ryan Kennedy). Look for Jamie Harper (Atlanta, TX DB) to reconsider his TCU commitment.
