Steven Coleman's gets his first offter!

Postby Coach Rob » Thu Apr 04, 2002 11:00 pm

This morning at about 9:00 a.m. Boston College called Coach Brittain, Skyline's Head Coach, to inform him that they were going to send Steven a formal letter to offer him a scholarship. Later that day I spoke with Coach Mattison, the DL coach of Notre Dame and he said for me to tell Steven that he would not be going to Boston College. "He'll be going to the school with the golden dome on top." Sounds like Notre Dame will be offering soon.

Coach Rob -
Call Coach Bennett - see when SMU is offering - and make sure this kid stays home to play on the hill top, where he can be the star - not in South Bend, where he may not even play.

Coach Rob,

Tell Steven to come on over to the Hilltop. We have numerous Golden Domes and would love to show him around.

Let's not assume Steven is headed to Notre Dame. It took them five tries to find someone (OK, other than O'Leary) to find someone who even wanted to coach that gang. I don't know enough about him to assume that he will or won't play at those other schools, but I agree with '06s statement that he needs to stay here and be a star at HOME.

One site out there says Steven Coleman is the #3 defensive line prospect in the entire state. Coach Rob - help us keep him home!

The same site also lists Garland LB Tata Thompson as the #11 PLAYER in the whole state. What a stud. Another guy who needs to stay near home.

Coach Rob, please make sure Steven knows all us PonyFans are looking forward to seeing another home-grown star in Ford Stadium.

By the way, Coach Rob, you mentioned Coach Brittain at Skyline - is that Que Brittain, who used to be the head coach at Flower Mound Marcus? Isn't he an SMU grad? Maybe we can call on one of our alums to help guide his players to the Hilltop.
