Skyline connection

Postby SMU00 » Wed May 22, 2002 4:59 pm

I keep reading that the head coach at Skyline (Brittain, I think) is a graduate of SMU. And there seems to be a lot of talk about legitimate prospects coming out of Skyline. Has anyone ever talked to the Coach? Does he encourage his players to give his ol' alma mater a look-see?

His recent players he sent to SMU included OL Danny Murphy, QB Chris Sanders, LB David Ellen and that WR who only lasted a year - can't remember his name.

Coach Rob - does Coach Brittain talk up the Ponies to your/his players?

Coach Brittain has sent several players to SMU and has expressed that Skyline and SMU should really try to develop a good relationship in the future.

Developing ties with Coach Brittain at Skyline should be a very high priority for Coach Bennett's staff. Coach Brittain has produced some fine college players over the years, and being an SMU alum, a former SMU football player and in the heart of Dallas means there should be a consistent flow of players going from Skyline to SMU. Coach Bennett and his staff should take up residence in Coach Brittain's (and Coach Rob's!) office.
