Coach Rob's take on Dallas (Hillcrest) QB Bryan Clampitt:

There are several outstanding quarterbacks in the Metroplex this year and Bryan Clampitt of Hillcrest High School is one of them. Standing at 6'4", 205lbs.

Clampitt is the college quarterback prototype. Bryan will enter his senior season as a two year starter and plans to take his team to the next level. Bryan is being recruited by Florida, TCU, Missouri, SMU and Conneticut. Bryan is a very intriguing prospect because not only does he have the Physical build but he also has the academic mindset too. Bryan is a fully qualified athlete having scored a 1020 on the SAT and currently holds an 85 average. Look for Bryan Clampitt's stock to continue to rise this season.

Clampitt is a great-looking prospect. His size brings to mind images of Josh McCown, and his throwing motion reminds some of Luke McCown, who's a dark-horse candidate for the Heisman this year. He's probably not quite as fast as Luke in a flat sprint, but he changes directions more easily when he's running, and he's elusive for a big QB. He has a very strong arm, can throw touch passes and doesn't lose much (if any) accuracy when throwing on the run.

He and Ricky Joe Meeks would stock the QB stable for years.

We can really use Clampitt. He's a great-looking prospect. He'll win several games on his own this year.

That's true, they'll win a lot of games at Hillcrest with Clampitt. But he doesn't always make the greatest decisions with the ball. Last year he tended to force the ball into multiple coverage because he had so much confidence in his arm strength. Some say that cost Hillcrest in their loss to W.T. White.
