6' to 6'4" and weigh over 300 pounds - enjoy doing cartwheels and can dance the Charleston please read on...

Do you enjoy blowing up the QB from a unblocked, blind side position Call SMU
If you love getting the leverage under a tall lineman and pushing him back into the pocket Call SMU

Now if you DONT enjoy freezing you butt off in Minnesota, Michigan,
New York, Indiana or Pennsylvania Call SMU.

With Two to three JUCO transfers that meet this description choose to come to SMU - Oh Boy we could have a good year.

4-3 D so we need DT's that are big and that has not been the case over the past few years.
Big and active - Hollie @#$$^%&^*$%

Here is what I see this fall.
( my prototype DT is 6 foot to 6.2 ...300 to 325 )

Minor at 285
Green at 293
Nice to see the TVCC transfer Williams at 295
and incoming freshman Mc Laurin at 295
That's four to rotate with Gentry at 305 but he is 6-6. Maybe he plays strong side end.

Would be nice to get another JUCO.

Go Mustangs

This seems to have been a GREAT DT recruiting class . . . Williams, the juco transfer, McLaurin (will be a stud I predict), and Jones (ideal size). We also have a good one seemingly coming in 2017. I hope Eric Sutton can become a stud quickly at DB and Noah Spears at LB (and maybe Ward) and somebody, anybody (Onu?) at safety.

These defensive youngsters will grow up quickly, but it will pay off next year and the year after while we backfill (hopefully) depth (and competition) behind them in the next 2-3 classes.

It's all about defense for me now, with our recruiting classes (and OL). I have no doubt we'll get (and coach up) the offensive skill players. But, put that with quality defensive depth and at OL, this team will get real good real quick.

I know it's preseason but I find the Cowboys lineup very interesting on D in regards to collegiate pedigree:

Purdue x2
S. Arkansas
Akron
N/A
North Texas
Florida A&M
Norfolk St
N Carolina St
Central Michigan
Saginaw Valley St

I don't know why but I would think the backups would also be from "big time" programs.

there's a lot of FBS talent at FCS and NAIA teams that ended up there due to NCAA qualification and academic or disciplinary suspension issues-so you'd have to analyze that too
