Per Archie McDaniel's twitter. Kid is apparently on a state championship team here in DFW.

Didn't know much about him until State Championship but he stood out to me and was instrumental in closing the door on Temple High-he had a relentless sack where he beat a double team and yanked the QB down with one hand on a Safety that was the key Defensive play in a 14-7 game with 5 minutes left. Also recovered a fumble. He was the Defensive Player of the Game in the 5A State Championship. I also think I saw him on DMN First Team All DFW Metro Defensive Team. I know I was a little surprised he hadn't gotten more offers after watching the entire 5A Championship. Another HP LB is committed to Virginia

Here are his Senior Year/Playoff Highlites

I would say he's pretty relentless-can run OK at current weight-not sure if he can do it carrying more weight. Seems to have good balance and strength and often physically beats much bigger OLMen. I will say most of the Highland Park kids we sign are rarely highly regarded but always seem to contribute. Kind of think he's earned a chance. At end of his highlites he also plays a little H-Back/TE. Possibly could be used in that role too as a blocking back

He's a very good 5/6A DL/DE who needs a RS year in the weight room. But this guy is one I see being very good by soph Year. I like his motor.

also had 10 tackles 7 unassisted and 2 sacks in the huge upset of Denton Ryan too in the 5A Semi-Finals. Denton Ryan was expected to win the 5A Championship but the QB Spencer Sanders (Okie St. commit) got hurt

I also wouldn't be surprised to see him switch over to offense and make a Center out of him based on his strength, balance, size and blocking skills-but that's just my projection from his skill set.

His motor though makes him a viable candidate at DE. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

great perspective from the end zone of his big play in 5A Championship. Beats double team with strength, balance and determination and tosses the QB to the ground in the end zone. Recommended-that was a helluva of a great play to basically seal the victory

Always hard to tell on high school film, but he looks pretty quick and strong in that video. The way he tackles makes me wonder if he wrestled. Looks like a guy who could have been recruited by some bigger schools. Not SEC or anything, but more than academies.
Welcome, Turner!

HP guys are good for SMU. HCCM doesn't even need a full tank of gas to get there and the D1 quality guys usually pan out.
