JUCO All-American First Team DE
SWJCFC First Team DE

very good speed and quickness which show up in the 140 yards of losses in his video. Probably more like 6-2

redshirted his freshman year-should have 3 seasons left-which may explain the lack of recruiting

the second video in the link above is the one to watch-his redshirt freshman video-don't know why he pinned his 2016 spring practice video

I really can't say why he wasn't more highly recruited

I have a feeling that not too many schools realized he was a recruitable athlete

He's listed as a freshman on the JC Roster since he redshirted as a true freshman-he had the option to play another year in JUCO

When Coaches went through the JC recruiting tour in the spring/summer there was no video on him because he redshirted as a freshman-he hadn't played a JUCO game yet. He wasn't a well known recruit coming out of high school either. His high school team was 0-10 although he was All City in the OKC area

For the Standup Rush DE position he was recruited for he has sufficient size (he says 6-3, 235-I think more like 6-2, 235). Kind of like Badejo who was listed at 6-2, 224 on the SMU roster and played as a true freshman. He clearly has very good speed and quickness on his video. Eventually you want to get him to 248-258 while maintaining his speed. This isn't a position where you need a 275 pounder in College. Maybe be nice to have a 260-275 pounder on the Strong Side but that's not going to be his role. We'll have Demerck over on the Strong Side where he fits perfectly. His stats are excellent with 12 sacks, 9 TFL and a very nice 75 Tackles-high for a DE-in a very good SWJCFC league. The extra benefit is that he will have 3 years to play at SMU. Hopefully, this is a situation where SMU did its homework and other teams didn't

Sounds like we found a good one who fell through the cracks. Clever!
