Feb 2018 is a long time to see how solid those commits will be but Kansas' win over Texas has to help them sell the potential of their program

Oh for sure. I'm betting exactly zero of those kids sign, but it is interesting. That said, I never thought KU would hold on to Dom Williams or Mike Lee.

If Kansas State can become a power Kansas certainly can.

Wasn't Kansas ranked #2 not that long ago? Before a certain coach choked a kid or something?

Yes, they've been top 10 over a couple of times over the past 15 years, including an Orange Bowl win in 2008. With a renewed focus on football ($), traditional basketball schools are putting a lot more focus on football success. See Duke and UNC, too.

My greater point of posting is to reinforce what Stallion and most of this board have been saying, which is a strong focus on recruiting can pay off. Again, not at all expecting most of those kids to sign, but it does have SEC message boards on fire.

Apparently Orgeron canned an assitant coach (RBs i think) right after signing day who was their lead recruiter in NO. The NO HS coaches took offense, tried to stage some behind-the-scenes boycott of LSU that none will admit to publicly, and pushed some players to an old friend in KS.

long story short, the kids weren't making this decision and i'd give it a 1% chance that all 3 of those 4 stars sign with Kansas on NSD 2018.

Hall of Fame football coach Barry Switzer once stated, "Bill Synder is not the coach of the year, he's not the coach of the decade, he's the coach of the century." Highly doubt the crummy state of Kansas (speaking in terms of college FB) can land back-to-back coaches of the century.

Also, I remember looking at K-State's roster when PB became HC. They had some 58 players on that K-State team that arrived there the non-traditional route, ie, transfers, community college, JC. Don't know if KU would make that same commitment.

Weis tried that and it didn't work.

Yeah, well, if the human meatball can get Kansas into the top 10 then it won't take another Snyder to make it happen.
