Per his Twitter account, Mesquite (Poteet), Texas linebacker Jimmy Phillips has committed to SMU. 6-2 / 190 Reports offers from Air Force, Alcorn State, Arkansas-Monticello, Delta State, Grambling State, Incarnate Word, Navy, Prairie View A&M, Texas State

Have faith in HCCM and staff but that offer list is similar to June Jones recruits. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

....except its 8 months before signing date and June wouldn't even have known his name this early. Plenty of kids blow up in summer combines and Senior year.

I think we have seen Chad's staff be pretty good at projecting talent to this point... trust the coach and not the offers.

SMU is projecting him to LB I'm pretty sure although he plays Safety in high school. Probably start out at the Star. He looks legit 6-3 in latest video this spring and will be 6-3, 220 in no time. His body type can easily handle the extra weight. I think he'll end up as a LB based on his body-type. First team All-District as a Junior with 66 tackles, two interceptions 7 Passes Broken Up and three forced fumbles.. This picture was taken just a couple of weeks ago in spring drills
