The highlites above missed Hunt's best slam--check out the long version at 9:55-very Jarrey Foster-like

The guards in this game don't like to pass up a shot too much do they. Pretty impressive dripple drive but the inside guys are lucky to touch the ball. BTW Feron Hunt had fouled out before start of 2nd OT

Missed this report from 3rd game of Whataburger Tournament against top Houston area team Spring Dekaney-this report said that Young scored 20 points on December 30 --not 2 points mentioned above:

Jahmar Young 6’10 C DeSoto (2018)
Jahmar Young is the player who does the dirty work for a talented Desoto squad. He is a tall and long big man who uses his athleticism to alter and block shots. On the offensive end, he is raw; however, he has great hands to catch dump-off passes and finishes them with thunderous dunks. Young has a high ceiling and will be a great player to look out for as he continues to progress at SMU. He had an eye-popping 20 point game in the loss to Spring Dekaney.

Are we still looking good on Maxey as well?

Most seem to think it will come down to us, Kentucky and maybe Michigan State. Obviously we have his Dad to keep us in it, but will be very difficult to overcome Calipari and his history get PGs to the NBA. I'm hoping we can sell him on playing with a bunch of guys from around here like Harris, etc (not to mention Hunt and Young obviously). Would be even sweeter to get Bolden to transfer in with those guys for 2019. Maxey, Harris, Hunt, Chargois and Bolden? Not bad...

Feron Hunt has apparently been getting into early foul trouble and had to sit out most of first half. Leading scorer though with 14 points in 63-49 victory over District rival South Grand Prairie. He fouled out before the 2nd OT loss to Duncanville

Forgive my ignorance around basketball recruiting, but for those who know, couldn’t Maxey be sold on the fact that he could come here: be coached by his father, be in power basketball conference, and still have the possible lax transfer rules should something go wrong where he could go to those other schools penalty free?

Haha it seems, outside looking in, without a doubt he would be a goner. He can smile that he collected couple of years of experience and pay in the worst case. I’m thinking we get him but to Stallions point, it might only be a year or 2.

Obviously he was brought in to build better relationships with some local talent, but that goes well beyond just his son. Sure hope we land Maxey, but Dad has more value to SMU than just Tyrese. Now obviously if none of those guys commit over the next few years, then I would agree but I don't think he's tied 100% to that.
