Chandler Morris is getting attention from Ohio State. Not sure if and offer had been made but the interest is there.

Ohio St. actually got a commitment from Lake Travis' QB Mathew Baldwin-he ain't half as good as his predecessor Charlie Brewer but they got him up to almost a 4 star now.

Mrydel, my understanding was that Jones had been offered a preferred walk-on spot. I do believe that will morph into a full scholly now that his grandad got their buddy the head gig, though.

You could be right. My info comes from an uncle of a kid who goes to school with Chandler. Either the kid or the uncle could have said it wrong, but the uncle, who is a former UA tight end, was strongly sure that a full scholarship was there. My guess is the kid could get into UA either way and not have a lot of financial burden.

Per his Twitter account, Jones had been offered by Arkansas.

Morris came down after the game to offer the scholarship to JSJ. Starting to smell like Jerry had quite the influence on getting Morris to UA.

who cares? I suspect he would have gone to arky with or without cm being there. at least he is rich enough to afford a good doctor to pull all the splinters out from his riding the pine while there.

He definitely did. Jerry even commented on it (while pretending to give a rats @$$ about SMU)

Not a bad use of a 'ship...kind of like when SMU offered both Bhop and his brother in hoops. In this case, Arkansas likes GrandDaddy's money so keep the man happy! Every school has it's share of scholarship players who never see the field. Doesn't really matter whether Jones ever earns any playing time. How many minutes did Ryan Hopkins play for SMU?

It worked out well when we got that Williams kid in basketball. His granddaddy was helpful...
