Saw him play one game in person last year. Had no idea who he was going in. By the end of the game, he was all any of us were talking about.

Southlake players are always a guaranteed to be great.

They are good in high school.

Southlake Carroll beat Byron Nelson 41-17. SMU commit TJ McDaniel ran for 111 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.

My kids go to Southlake schools so I see every football game. I usually leave after halftime, which is fine because McDaniel rarely plays in the second half. McDaniel continues to dominate against subpar competition. Their division is weak. Last week, they played Eton who was 5-3. McDaniel took the first snap and ran for 75 yards and a TD; that 1 play was more points and yards than Eton had the entire game.

McDaniel is the most dynamic player Carroll has had since Lil’Jordan (now at UT). they use McDaniel better than they used Lil’Jordan; however, that may be a product of the new coaching staff.

Playoffs should be interesting since the starters will have to play in the second half.

I find it odd that an English prep school has a football program.

I find it a micro aggression that Southlake isn’t able to play Allen. That’s the true travesty.
