Penny has been taking names and kicking stuff during this recruiting period. 247 now has Memphis ranked as the #1 recruiting class for 2019. This week he added commitments from Precious Achiuwa, a 5 Star SF, #14 nationally, and Boogie Ellis, a 4 Star CG, #37 nationally.

He previously signed the #1 player in the nation and the #s 48,56,98, and 106 players in the nation, all 4 Stars. That Two 5 Stars and Five 4 Stars.

And he has a commitment from heavily recruited graduate transfer Rayjon Tucker, who has declared for the draft and may turn pro.

Memphis could have all 5 players on the Freshman All Conference Team next year.

Good for the AAC. Setting the bar high for everyone else going forward.

Bad news, he has to do this every year as opposed to every four years. One and dones are great, but you have to restock every year.

And. Now that he is taking top recruits from the blue bloods, they will be sure to have friends at the ncaa pay extra attention to the Memphis program as well...

No hes dead on, their small enough where they can $#@^ them over. The N CAA loves to pick on little guy because that's the only ones they can win against And then hypocritically Justify their existence.

No programs clean but I assure you action is happening at Nemesis I mean Memphis. I hope they win the tournament

I agree.

Thought the original poster was just saying it is better to do it our way giving scholarships to players without any offers so you don't ever have to worry about them leaving.

You don’t remember Robo Doh? You don’t remember CUSA? You don’t like the new Moody, Crum?

I remember sitting in an empty Moody watching our guys lose to Rollins College long before Robo Doh and CUSA (yes, I was once one of the 1500). "Recent" history under LB in the new Moody has been fun but the past 2 seasons a little painful after tasting success. Not unlike the post death penalty collapse and denying Larry Johnson admission in the 11th hour.

The reseat was a disaster. And nearly everything on the court the past season and a half after Shake and Jarrey went down have sucked. That’s certain. But I’m thankful for where we are in a good conference with solid facilities. I EXPECT our leadership to take full advantage of those assets — and to stop taking advantage of loyal fans. Moody Magic is there for the retaking.
