Tyler Junior College defensive end DeVere Levelston (6-4 / 255) announced on his Twitter account that he has committed to SMU. He listed other offers from Arizona, Maryland, Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Texas, Purdue, Southern Miss, UTEP, Virginia Beach and Youngstown State.

"First I would have to Thank God for blessing me with everything I have and also giving me the ability to play this sport! Secondly I would have to thank TJC coaching staff for giving me another opportunity to play Football with also showing me a brotherhood throughout Juco! Also a Special shout out to my Mom, Aunt, Uncle and girlfriend who have all helped me throughout this recruiting process. I would also like to thank my friends and family who have stood by my side through this Journey. Lastly I would like to thank all the coaches that took the time out to recruit me. With all this being said I would like to say that i'm Committed to Southern Methodist University #PonyUpDallas"

How crazy would it be to take only Jucos from now on and roll the dice lol

It's definitely a boost to the short term goals but eventually you need to change the proportion for long-term goals. I'm hoping it's eventually like 65% high school recruits and 35% transfers with a slight adjustment for walk-ons.

That was pretty much the Dan Snyder approach, I have zero problems with it.

When Phil Bennett left KSU for SMU, I remember looking at the KSU roster.

~56 of their players came the non-traditional route......CC, JC, transfers.

No reason SMU can’t follow that same script.

Exactly. K State won big with the model.

The difference is that I think we can do better with HS recruits than Snyder did in Kansas and the quality of our transfers will be better.

Pretty sure nobody should try to emulate anything Dan Snyder does in Washington.

I'm not familiar with Dan Snyder. Bill Snyder I know and respect.
