just pray that he doesn't get smart and sign with Navy (he already has offers from Army and Air Force) because he's a 6 star QB prospect for them and we'd have to chase his 4.38 speed for the next 4 years. Seriously, he would be the No. 1 High School football recruit at any position in the country for Navy. Sharpe is a fantastic prospect-in the right offense and/or position. All these stars assigned to these kids only really make sense if you are projecting the kid into the right offense. A 5 star prospect for Navy might be a 2 star prospect for 95% of the schools in the Country

Well, his dimensions are not so much different from what I remember hearing about Oklahoma 2 x cocensus All American RB Tommy McDonald who is also listed in the Eagles HOF although his program weight was more and the WIKI article gives him an inch more height and almost 30 more pounds.

McDonald was a multiple times All Pro and is in the Eagles HOF.

I think HCSD knows what he's doing but Stallion is right also when he says its a matter of the right offense and position.

OOPS - Should have said he was a WR as a pro. FIFM.

It was a lot easier to be that size in 1954...

But what about your size in 1854? Or all the other '54s before it?

The only one this year, maybe. Do you also not want all of the recruits that signed on national signing day in the past years? Maybe we should've cut all of them too and let them go to their second choices. After all, they weren't "Committed".

Fantastic precedent to set: Force a 17 or 18-year-old kid to make a choice they aren't quite ready to make yet or they lose their spot. I'm sure all of the high school coaches will become great advocates for the Dykes regime with tactics like that. And in any case I'm sure we would be a great trail blazer; there's probably a pretty good reason why nobody else does that. Sounds like a really good way to lose out on kids with P5 offers who want to hear what other coaches have to say. I'm sorry to bust your bubble, but SMU is not the hottest girl at the dance and if you want to pool people from big conferences to come play in a G5, there's a little bit of give-and-take because you don't have all of the leverage so as to be demanding that they prematurely jump the gun.

Does anyone know what happened with Jay Bell? 247 commit list shows he hasn’t signed.

We will rue the day we passed on Raylen Sharpe.

I doubt it - remember he did not sign on the early date - we told him that if he didn’t sign then we could not guarantee a spot for him - it was his choice
