WRU...love the size of the guys Sonny & Co have been bringing in as I'm sure our QBs do as well!

His nickname is Baby T.O. and he certainly looks like a young T.O. in both size and physical appearance.

Love this commit, plus North Mesquite is my alma mater. They have been bad at football for so long but maybe they can turn it around!

From The Athletic, a great web site to join:
SMU adds another four-star prospect
Stop if you’ve heard this before: SMU landed a four-star prospect. That statement may never get old to SMU fans, but it has become a trend.
It happened again when four-star receiver Cordale Russell of Mesquite (Texas) North committed to the Mustangs on Sunday. Russell, rated the No. 240 overall player and the No. 31 receiver, is the first Class of 2023 commit for the Mustangs.
Sonny Dykes made a big splash in last year’s class when he signed fringe top-100 quarterback Preston Stone and has maintained that momentum with two top-150 players committed in the 2022 class in safety Chace Biddle and receiver Jordan Hudson, four-star teammates at Garland (Texas) High.
SMU is one of a few Group of 5 programs that have benefitted greatly from the changes in college football this summer. The Mustangs already had a solid recruiting base, but they now have added to their sales pitch — access to a theoretical expanded playoff (whenever that happens) and the ability of their players to benefit from their name, image and likeness while playing in the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the nation.
The Mustangs are adding a ton of quality talent to their roster and seem well-positioned under Dykes to make a move in the AAC.

Have to crawl before we can walk, but yes, hopefully a move nationally in the not too distant future!

Had a 26 yard TD catch yesterday in North Mesquite's 35-0 win over Richardson. Only had 3 catches for 43 yards though.

North Mesquite is very much a run oriented team with little passing, so he won't put up gawdy numbers, but all the skills and physical attributes are there. This will be a great pick up.

Okay, let's start early can we ask SMU to put a crowd funding page to up Sonny's Salary. I also would like to buy a shirt that says "I was dead wrong about Sonny and I'm sorry."

Well…maybe he is headed to TCU…

I definitely want to thank the amazing SMU staff for providing me with the opportunity to play football at the next level. After careful considerations and discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from SMU. @KoachV @TrustMyEyesO @NM_StallionFB @SMU_Football
