SMU lands transfer WR

Former North Carolina receiver Beau Corrales (6-3, 210), of Georgetown, Texas, announced his commitment to transfer to SMU. He doesn't appear on the Tar Heels' 2021 stats, but in 2020 he played in 5 games and had 13 catches for 238 yards (18.3 per) and a touchdown.

As a junior in 2019, he played in all 13 UNC games, starting 11, and ranked third on the team in catches (40), yards (575) and receiving TDs (6), with a receiving TD in four straight games, earning a spot on the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.

In four years at UNC, Corrales had 80 receptions for 1,176 yards and 12 TDs.

At Georgetown High School, he was ranked the No. 27 WR in Texas and among the top wide outs in the country by Scout.com. He caught 90 passes for 1,158 yards and 14 TDs as a senior to lead Georgetown to an 8-3 record ... Earned first-team all-district as well as Class 5A all-state honorable mention honors ... Made 190 receptions over his last three years for 2,456 yards and 22 TDs ... District defensive MVP as a junior in basketball ...

Pretty highly recruited out of H.S. and a good addition to depth at WR, especially after losing the 2 H.S. recruits.
