Plans tonight? 11/18

Postby Peruna88 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 7:16 pm

If all you're going to do tonight is surf Ponyfans, take a break and head over to Moody for the women's game vs. Arkansas. This is a fun team to watch and a huge non-conference game for the ladies.

Tip at 7:00pm

We just got a "Boom goes the dynamite" on the radio call. Classic.

Great game to be at. Ladies played HARD down the stretch to come back and hold on to the lead (after trading for a few minutes) to the buzzer. There were points were it seemed like the SMU basket shunk... NOTHING was falling. They didn't let it get to 'em and fought it out. There were at least 2 former players in attendance, J Dodds and another whose name I can't recall.

I saw Janielle, Sarah Davis and Brittany "Red" Allen.

Game started VERY slow for both teams. Almost 10 minutes before either team made it to double digits. Mustangs fought back from 9 down in the 2nd to win. Big game by Raquel Christian with 18.

I caught Rhonda's postgame comments and read the story. First time we've beaten Arkansas since 1993. Great win. Always good to beat a SEC team, even if this one is likely headed toward a second division finish.

Peruna88, give me your impressions of Christian. Nice game. How much pressure can she take off Gilliam and Samuels?

Free throw shooting was horrible. That's been this team's problem. Shooting was odd. Around 40 percent from the field but better than 50 from 3-point range.

Great win. Let's take it to 3-0 this weekend in New Orleans. I hope to get over there soon -- probably for the TCU game.

Rhonda's program is everything Doherty's program is not. It's the way she does business. She's tough but she supports her player. Doherty is just a flat out jerk.
