Small ball does not work all the time. Tulane got hot and came back. And I am not blaming this one on McMurray at all. Tulane is not a totally bad team at all just ask Temple. I say once Chargois gets back to health the team will regroup and be ready to go.

Tulane is a decent team, they are solidly in the top half of the conference and they are very well coached. Obviously not having chagois hurt a lot. Not going to write off the year just yet because of those facts but going into UCF or Tulsa or Houston will be tough. No evidence to suggest we won’t defend moody.

The team I saw on the court tonight is not NCAA material. We still do not have a take charge leader who consistently leads. Shake disappears repeatedly in the clutch and no one else consistently steps up although at different times various others lead for short periods of time.

In the grand scheme of things this loss now makes us have to probably go 2-2 against WSU and UC and avoid anymore terrible losses like @UConn or @Tulsa. I think we are still fine, but we lost all of our slack.

More disturbing for me is how poor this team plays away from Moody and how Shake Milton is a choker at the FT line. McMurray was also a ghost tonight and was abused on D.

We can't win when both Whitt and BenE have bad games. Whitt was out a lot against TCU and we saw what happened. He didn't play well at all tonight. IMHO, he's our MVP and it's not points with him. If we had Chargois we would have won. But, yeah, at Houston, at Temple, and at UCF will be tough. Have to sweep Moody and beat at least Temple or Houston on the road (and win all the rest of the 'should wins' - ECU, UConn, USF). This loss suuuucks.

Shoot everyone but Shake and Jarrey had bad games... tough to win those type of games, but real good teams win those tough games...

Shake drops 24 shooting 9-14, while Whitt McMurray and Gu are a combined 7-24. But people blame shake? That was bad coaching, bad calls, bad offense all game, and another team going nuts from the field and ft line.

Shake is not clutch. He missed a critical ft within the last minute.

So did Whitt, it’s not shakes fault Jank let a 7 minute stretch go buy where Tulane went post against McMurry to erase a 12 point lead.

I always say if you miss the front end of a 1-1 its just like a turnover and you are basically 0-2 from the line not 0-1

I also think that the selection committee will look at the fact that the team was not at full strength when the loss to Tulane occurred.

There were multiple things that lost us this game (obviously Shake was good all game and other weren't outside of Jarrey), but Shake choked for the 2nd time this season from the FT line with the game on the line. Whitt is a BAD FT shooter. He may have choked too, but he isn't and 80%+ FT shooter who is supposed to be our go to guy and preseason conference POY. Shamet or even Rob Gray nail both FT's.

It was a perfect storm loss, but its painful that we still had a chance to overcome that and we couldn't capitalize on it. Real good teams win these games (See Cincy tonight on the road down all game, but find a way to win).

What is really shocking is how few defensive plays we made when the game was on the line. Even when we are cold we usually come up with Defensive stops and they just weren't there tonite during Tulane's run. Tulane hitting 95% from Free Throw Line when game was on the Line didn't help either
