For me ESPN Gameday at our court last year showed that we made it to the big time in hoops. Let's run our non-OOC schedule and make them come back again this year. (although I am not sure if they have every come to a school that is on probation)

Espn gameday won't come because of the post season ban not because of the probation. They want to hype those games at tournament bound teams.

I hope we don't take this for granted. Before LB, our biggest and really only significant wins in basketball or football over a twenty year period were Memphis (bball), TCU (football) and Pitt (football).

We need to get South Carolina Upstate back on the schedule for a Revenge game.

I disagree with this. ESPN does not have the March Madness Contract, CBS and its family does. Thus, ESPN will hype teams which people want to watch, not hype teams that will help CBS have people watch March Madness. In a perverse way, its to ESPN's advantage to hype us, especially if they can then glom onto the Europe trip and broadcast that against the CBS dance games.

The only way you can attract neutrals to watch a regular season college basketball game is to hype it as a big time matchup of two teams going to the post season.

You really think ESPN would try to compete with the NCAA Tourney by showing some ineligible team play a bunch of European teams no one has ever heard of? I'm not sure even I would watch that

Depending on who it was, it could be SMU trying to derail another teams shot at the tourney.

Gonzaga vs. SMU (imagine if both were undefeated at that point in time). You think that might be must watch TV?

Don't forget to thank Rick Hart. His hiring selection could have taken the program in two distinctly different directions.

that is how I remember it. Orsini wanted Rick Majerus, a heart attack waiting to happen. It did and he would have died as SMU head coach. Orsini fought Turner on the LB hire and got fired.

To this day I still cringe when I see their scores on the ticker.
