Not sure what qualifies as "back in the day", but I was there when we won our last SWC title and not one game in that entire season really had anything resembling the atmosphere of the last few years - and that includes the Rice and Texas games that won the title.

I suppose you would have to go further back than the schumate era.

However, when you speak of "Back in the day"- was there a time when Moody was ever full with 90% of the attendees there to cheer for SMU.

I recall a lot of opposing fans in the house for the big games at Moody. Opposing fans simply can't get a lot of tickets to take over Moody like UT, Arky, A&M, Hou, etc used to do back in the day.

Moody is better-but I'm not so sure its louder than when about 3,000 students used to pack in like Sardines in every inch of the bleachers court-side in the 60s and 70s-they had kids sitting on the floor in the aisles before the Fire Marshall got involved. Packed 10,007 I believe it was back then. Now there are 3,000 less fans and about 2,500 of those court-side seats are filled with "old peeples" who only sometimes get loud

When you talk about the 90's and that championship under Shumate, a good crowd in those years was 5-6,000 in an already downsized Moody that had most of the student section removed (happened the year the Mavericks made the playoffs unexpectedly and used Moody rather than Reunion Arena that had booked some kind of trade show). I'm talking about 1960's and early 1970's Moody. If a ranked team dared play us at Moody in those years, they knew they were coming into a hostile environment.

I was disappointed to see so many empty seats.

I think Reunion had tennis scheduled during the Mavs-Sonic series. That Moody game had more people packed in there than before or since. 10k plus.

Agreed especially the east side. Thankfully looking at replays, you can’t see second level well anyways.

Whitt has the best mid range jump shot on the team. Seems like with all the 3 point shooting in college basketball that the mid range jump shot has become a lost art. Whitt can be a force if he stays consistent at his mid range jump shot.

As for the person sitting next to McMurray, I didn’t pay attention but I’d guess it was Mike. They usually sit at the end of the bench in street clothes.

They weren't in street clothes and who is Mike?

Isaiah Mike.

Badass transfer from Duquesne.

Next year everyone will know “Mike”

Re-watching the game now. That’s Mike at the end next to McMurray. Both wearing long sleeved T’s and sweatpants. Whitt usually dressed for success when he sat last year. These guys are usually in sweats.

What were Mike’s numbers at Duquesne?
