For those who aren't watching you are missing a really good basketball game. SMU down 2 and Zhuric at the line trying to make it a 1 point game inside 4 minutes to play. UNT crowd giving their guys energy. Not a packed house but enough to be making a lot of noise...announcers said they have a record 2500 students in attendance. That's surprisingly low to me in an almost 10k seat arena and with as many students as UNT has

Heck of a game tonight. Williamson with a bonehead play to foul Edwards shooting a three as the shot clock was about to expire. We had a three to win at the buzzer and just didn't convert. This AAC race is really going to be tight coming down the stretch. Need to win at WSU and defend Moody to remain in the hunt

This conference is underrated. Some really tough places to win and UNT is one of them. Our road schedule is really going to be tough and teams are going to be knocking each other off. Not sure how many bids the AAC might earn but yes, we are probably NIT bound if we can't finish really strong

Embarrassing. I’ve said this is not the coach at SMU. Maybe we should hire the Denton community coach who seems to have done more with less. Need a change now. We’re going to get destroyed next year from a win-loss record.

Lanier has done a very solid job in year two. That game’s a win at Moody.

From an SMU fan at the game “One of the best basketball games I’ve been to since moody magic was an actual thing”

Hopefully Moody will be as much of a home court advantage as the Superpit was for UNT last night. That was a really good game and people who don't follow college basketball closely might think our team is much more talented than UNT's but that's just not the case. UNT has had a good hoops program for several years now and they will be one of the teams competing for the 1st round byes in the AAC Tournament. That game was back and forth all night and I have to give UNT credit for knocking down threes and making clutch FTs (after shooting poorly all night) at crunch time. SMU, on the other hand became a one man show with Zhuric trying to take the game over and Harris virtually disappearing late. As well as Zhuric played, I was concerned all night that our guys were playing too much one on one ball. We are better when our opponents have to worry about scoring from 4-5 of our guys. We'd be singing a different tune if that last 3 pointer had gone down for a one point road win.

That really was one of the more exciting games we've played this year...right up there with the loss @ Memphis. Back and forth game and I don't think either team ever lead by more than 5 points?

Every game this SMU team has won this year has been by double figures whereas our losses have generally been by 2-3 points. This SMU team is a really competitive bunch and Lanier's tough defensive coaching approach is a major reason for that.
