For those who were surprised we could lose to UNT in Denton earlier this week and want to attribute that loss to our HC, UNT is engaged in a battle @ FAU today with the winner joining UNCC of all teams at the top of the AAC standings. FAU up 2 with 3:53 to play

The top half of the AAC has a bunch of really competitive basketball programs

Davis hits a three with 0.4 seconds to play giving FAU a 3 point lead over UNT. The Mean Green had 2 shots to take the lead but couldn't convert

Memphis loses at UAB and suddenly all those horrible teams that were invited into the AAC are dominating the top part of the standings

UAB beat UNT in Denton in that game. We still play that UAB in a home/home series. And Rice won @ Memphis by 3. Take nothing for granted in this conference. USF has been a surprise. They are sitting at the top of the standings along with FAU right now and we still have to play them in Tampa

After beating Charlotte by 3 points in Tampa last night, USF remains at the top of the AAC standings at 9-1 while FAU is 8-1. Plenty of surprises in this year's AAC and USF under it's 1st year coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, who they hired away from Kennesaw State, has to be at the top of the list

That USF win last night was a good result for SMU in their quest to secure one of the four bye spots for the conference tournament. It will most likely come down to tiebreakers and with that loss by Charlotte, SMU now either has beat or still will play every team in front of them or tied with them in the standings. A good place to be in, just have to take care of business.

As it stands now, we are the fourth seed and have the bye.

Beat Rice!

UAB beats FAU 76-73 in OT. FAU has never won in Birmingham. SMU still has to visit both FAU & UAB so it just gets tougher for our guys. Beat UNT!
