victory over UCSB is now a Top 100 win. They are only 14-12 but they played a brutal non-conference. Wyoming dropped to No. 102

SMU actually has jumped to No. 13 in RPI-they project a No. 9 RPI if we win AAC Tournament

Wow. That's amazing. I wonder what seed a 9 RPI gets you. I think we are a 5 seed with an AAC tourney ship (Louisville got a 4 last year with it but had a higher AP ranking I think at that point).

If they win the tournament it would be excitement around here that we have not seen in a while regarding hoops.

In theory RPI is supposed to be a big influence when seeding, but it won't be in the case of SMU and the AAC. I think we are locked in at a 6 even though I think if we won the AAC you could make a strong case we are easily in the top 16 teams in the country and deserve at least a 4.

I think you are right about being a 5 if we win the tournament. 9th in RPI implies 3rd seed but I think we will be seeded 1-2 spots lower than implied by our RPI based on the way AAC teams were seeded last year, plus our lack of high quality wins.

I think this is probably right (both deserving a 4 but receiving a 6), partly because of the conference final being on Sunday. It means the committee has to slot teams in advance of knowing the outcome, and the safe call for them, if SMU is in the AAC final, is to leave SMU a 6 in case they lose.

the AAC needs a member on the committee asap. does anyone know how those spots are selected and filled?
