In theory RPI is supposed to be a big influence when seeding, but it won't be in the case of SMU and the AAC. I think we are locked in at a 6 even though I think if we won the AAC you could make a strong case we are easily in the top 16 teams in the country and deserve at least a 4.
I think this is probably right (both deserving a 4 but receiving a 6), partly because of the conference final being on Sunday. It means the committee has to slot teams in advance of knowing the outcome, and the safe call for them, if SMU is in the AAC final, is to leave SMU a 6 in case they lose.
