Williamson and Phelps shot a combined 7-15. SMU is really tough to beat when those guys shoot anywhere near 50%...not to mention Williamson and Tyreek Smith's hustle plays and Wright being on fire!

SMU made 8-10 FTs after missing two early and getting bailed out on one of Hudson's misses with a Memphis lane violation. If Memphis comes out hot and tries to make this a FT shooting contest let's hope our guys can keep making their FTs. Both teams shooting threes well today at 44%

SMU with 14 offensive boards on only 19 missed FGS. That's just great desire and hustle

I made the comment earlier on a different thread that our next 3 games (Memphis, @ FAU and @ USF) will tell us whether this SMU team will be a contender or pretender. Off to a really good start. Hopefully they can keep up the intensity and maintain this big lead for another 20 minutes

Memphis is on the short end of a 24-point margin (70-46), but David Jones is doing his part. He leads the AAC with 21.2 points per game — and has 22 points (8/13 shooting) ... with almost 16 minutes to go.

Good start to the 2nd half. Memphis turning up pressure and our guys are responding. All 10 guys have now scored and 3 in double figures

Jones is a player for sure but Memphis relying basically on only 3 guys to do their scoring

Getting a little sloppy dealing with Memphis' pressure and not playing disciplined offense now just jacking up threes. Get it under control and maintain a 20 point lead
