It was really crucial to get a win over a quality team on the road. The early season schedule was remarkably favorable for a young team, with 9 of the first 12 games in Moody, and TCU being the only tough game on the road. The ladies got some quality wins at home, but when the NCAA selection committee is seeding teams, quality road wins are a high priority. This was a road win over a team in the top-50 of the RPI, actually ranked a couple places in front of us. Games like this can mean the difference from being a 13 seed, to an 8 or 9. At the end of the season, this win could be very important, both for the post season, and seedings in the WAC tournament. With 6 WAC teams in the RPI top-50, someone with post season aspirations isnt going to make it past the first round. You dont want to be the 4th or 5th seed, and have to take the hard road through.

SMU is now 3-0 in WAC play, and La. Tech should beat Nevada tonight, if they havent already. Tech and SMU will be favored to win their home games next week. So, on January 22nd, 6-0 SMU could play 6-0 La. Tech for first place in the WAC, at Moody Coliseum.

At what point do we break into the top 25? We haven't even received any votes yet.

We won't break into the top 25 until we start beating some ranked teams.

We could start receiving votes next week. Tulsa had gotten a few votes and we beat them soundly, and Fresno St. showed that we can beat a quality team on the road. Don't be surprised if we show up soon in the receiving votes list (assuming we keep winning).
