L A Mustang..again, he has only been here 2.7 years..in answer to your question, "What has he done...?" He is building..planning...adjusting...mopping up..cleaning out..ask that question after next season and certainly after his fifth.

not really a tangent....my point was using Bliss an example of how he was able to turn things around is not a good one. He was cheating and making payments to players. If we were doing that, we would have signed Darnell Arthur among many other players. Using Bliss as an example is like comparing how quickly Ron Meyer was able to turn the program around to how quickly it will take Jones to turn it around.

department of redundancy department...dawn, the point is, based on the "vibe on this board", Bliss, after going 1-5 and 3-13 in his first two years in the s SWC, would have NEVER BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE to cheat, we would have sliced off his testicles and sent him on his way...

well then, that is the point, Bliss, cheating and in at the time what would be a BCS conference needed time...minus the cheating and minus the BCS conference it will take more time.

ok, thats sound great, but mopping up your own messes and adjusting from your own recruiting mistakes is not a good thing or something you get credit for. How many games did you see firsthand this year?

as HF points out, if he is still cleaning up a mess, it is his?? Bamba is the only player on the roster that he did not recruit. Other than the consistently miserable performances on the court, what exactly still needs cleaning up? Our football program was just as bad or worse when JJ took over last year as our b-ball program was when Doherty came in.....will everyone be satisfied after three years under JJ if they go 2-10 and 1-7 in conference (which would be equivalent to our b-ball record after Doherty’s third year)??

if you were truly on the edge of your seat, you must have been more concerned about the line rather than SMU winning.

Seems like dropping a few bucks to purchase one or two quality recruits, but THAT'S ALL would be a great way to turn the program around. Find two guys who will come, get their check, and keep quiet, and use the wins they generate to improve recruiting....

As many schools have found before, that's a VERY slippery slope once you start down it.

There is no such thing as "get their check and keep quiet", that kind of naivete has gotten us in trouble more than once.

Has Doherty been fired yet? It is amazing that a coach can go from 10 wins to 9 wins with a ridiculously easy non-conference schedule and still keep his job. Does Orsini still stand behind his "Top 25" statement? Or did he say that to get people to donate to the Mustang Club?

Isn't that the truth!! Why did so and so get more than me? I'm gonna tell Dale Hansen about this.
