Yes, McCoy is leaving the hilltop. He wants to be closer to home and is seeking colleges in the west coast.

That would be nice if there was something more official was provided to verify this. Call me skeptical until otherwise.
How about a link?

If any of that were true, might want to call Gillespie or Pastner for the head coach vacancy
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

Boy that would suck.....first time posters are always a crapshoot, sometimes they are spot on and use their first post where they are in the know, other times its a troll coming to start trouble...
No offense Rusty, but I hope you are a troll!
But if you are right, nice scoop.

I wonder if our mods can get on top of this quickly to determine whether this thread is BS or factual. A little help guys.

False alarm: I'm told this is nothing more than a rumor.

I had a bad feeling this was a possibility, and posted that if something like this happened then the 2008-09 season officially becomes an unmitigated disaster. I hope this is not accurate for doherty's and SMU's sake.

whew. is the part of the story about him being homesick true? If so, not sure we are out of the woods until he takes the court next October for practice.

any chance McCoy threatened to transfer when he heard we are bringing in GJ Vilarino as another point guard? Call this the ultimate wishful, hopeful, positive thinking spin. I have no reason to think GJ is coming and I am a big Paul McCoy fan.
