bump----This is the first time that SMU has held teams to under 50 points in consecutive games since 1992...Doh defensive trend?.....or coincidence?...(edit) or the result of using the shot clock all the way down to limit the touches on the opposing team or is it his new match up zone strategy?

From DMN this weekend for those out of town:

maybe Doh was taking a step back and looking at when he was most successful at SMU...which is to say, the first 8 games of his first season here. Remember we lost like 58-52 or something to Florida State out there. That tactic worked well that season until people started pressing us.

Faye & McCoy are better suited for an uptempo style.
If u take them out of the lineup than this style makes sense imo.

I still can't tell what we're running on offense.

Personally, my favorite is running a double-post offense where you get higher percentage of shots, more field goal attempts on put backs and the potential of attempting a bunch of free throws.

And when you have two big ones in the lineup who are pretty good, it's a fun offense to watch.

I assume he felt he had to shorten the game as he didn't have the horses to run with UTEP (with Faye out)

felt like we were back in the Shumate era
