Matthews and get his brother (yes I know he's already committed elsewhere but kids sometimes change their minds). I like his shot, nice high release. McCaw looks a little slow. Wood looks really athletic but rail thin. If he put on 20 pounds between now and the Fall I'd take him.

I think the Tolbert transfer confirms that Myles ain't coming here. For the last spot we need another shooter...If Wood is more "ready" than McCaw and Matthews then I would take him- next year has the opportunity to be very special; we need guys who can come in and contribute right away

Agreed. Our biggest need now is a money shooter that can handle the rock and not be a liability on defense. Decent size would be nice. (6'3" ish).

Matthews is around 6'2" or 6'3", McCaw is 6'5", and Wood is 6'4".

Here are their profiles.

DarrickWood

Pat McCaw
http://sports.yahoo.com/smu/basketball/ ... Caw-142527

Dominique Matthews

One thing to remember is that Darrick Wood is now in JC so he probably weights more than 176 but he is also recovering from an injury.

Take Wood off the list -- Rivals is reporting he signed with St. Johns. ((Old news, refers to high school commitment. Please ignore. Correction below))

The remaining two and Myles are not our only options. There will be some graduating seniors with a year of eligibility left who would love to play for Larry Brown.

All things being equal, I think the ship stays open until Myles signs.

Wood signed with St Johns out of high school but had to go to JC. He has not committed anywhere at this moment.

I would prefer Wood, then, but don't know his shooting percentages. Would have to scout more before I'd know for sure.

Thanks for the correction. Will pay more attention to dates next time.

Looks like Wood shot 41% FG and 31% 3 pt in his one JUCO year from what I could tell. But one interview I saw said he was about 60-70% with his knee. Hmm.
