Re: Trivia: First Victor(ies) Over Eventual National Champ? We not beat NC State during either one of their championship years (74 & 83).
We did play eventual NC Arkansas in 93-94 but they beat us, 96-70. http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/sch ... edule.html That may have been the only other time we even played an eventual NC..... Last edited by LA_Mustang on Wed Apr 09, 2014 2:21 pm, edited 2 times in total.

I was AT that one! That was the mountain top of my experience with men's bball while a student (and we get creamed -- tells you something about my "battered fan syndrome" . . . must forgive me, I'm learning).

Re: Trivia: First Victor(ies) Over Eventual National Champ? Was that the year GT won or UNC. We beat UNC earlier that same year.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Trivia: First Victor(ies) Over Eventual National Champ?GT won it. In 84. Didn't remember, but after getting my yearbook out, it says we had a 24-16 lead over the hoyas at half. I just remember the how frustrating it was to watch the four corners offense. Glad they put in a shot clock. I also remember LDavis not boxing out Ewing on the missed free throw.
