Joel Embiid press conference today

Embiid and Kansas coach Bill Self will have a news conference at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse. Most have indicted that he will be announcing he's going pro and he already has an agent selected.

From what I have seen, most KU fans now feel like Myles Turner is theirs if that happens. Kansas has been the frontunner for him for awhile now so this might put them over the edge for him.

It has been rumored and speculated for weeks that Embid was leaving KU. Just recently it has been rumored Turner to SMU. I do not think today changes anything Turner has or is deciding.

That said, I am not thinking Turner selects SMU. I have believed it to be KU or UT for sometime. But if he does select SMU it would be because of Mudiay and Brown rather than the Embid decision.

Well said. I just hope he doesn't pick UT.

if he wants to stay close to home like he has been saying all along...KU is not going to happen

This is KU all the way, always was if Embid left for NBA.

That being said - I am not sure Turner is the "one and done" everyone seems to think he is. Don't get me wrong - I would take him in a heartbeat. But he gets pushed around down low. He is almost 7" but only weighs about 240. Okafor on the other hand weighs over 270 and is maybe an inch shorter.

I just can't see him winning a lot of battles down low against bigger, more physical players. I am sure he will come out after one year and be a top 10 pick, but at this point - I like our squad.

^^^^ I nominate ponyinNC to lead the WDNWHA committee.

I, for one, want to get Turner more than anything. Will be disappointed if he chooses to go to a team that could actually start next season ranked below us.

I don't want to step on Mrydel's toes...

Of course I would take Turner in a heartbeat, no question. I am just not sure how 'dominant' he will be on the college level next year, compared to the likes of an Okafor.

I've asked people close to "the man" aka mrydel, and he is not taking resumes at this time.

That is correct. The WDNWHA has lifetime members. Like the Supreme Court. And we work 24/7 on all players. Turner is taking a lot of our time but a decision should be rendered soon.

Do you accept prayers for your decision making process?

My bad on the grammatical error, fixed the mistake.

I completely agree with you on that point. The only way you can survive in the post at his size is to be a game changing shot blocker like Anthony Davis (6'10" 220). I hope Turner picks SMU and stays for more than a year so that he can put on some muscle and learn from one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time
