Very happy to see this, especially Thomas confirmed gone. Great news.

Are you really? They were a good team with Thomas and House, but not really a threat to SMU. Without the duo their team is horrible, and that does not bode well for the conference that already has a reputation of being top heavy. Was counting on Houston to be one of the conference's solid teams, but that ship has sailed.

1) cannot transfer to another AAC School
2) cannot transfer to any other school within the state of Texas
3) cannot transfer to any school that is on next year's schedule

Both players are appealing the transfer restrictions.

These are pretty tough restrictions. So they are giving these guys out on a silver platter to non-Texas Big 12 programs or possibly to an SEC/LSU team..

These transfer rules are getting pretty ridiculous. If a coach leaves or if you are a walk on, you should be allowed to transfer anywhere you want with no having to wait a year to play.

if we are going to be a power, we want Houston to be a solid hoops program; not good to play in a conference that is full of cupcakes

If SMU is going to be a power, it has nothing to do with Houston or any other team on SMU's schedule. . . Having said that, and if 2014/15 season is a 30 game regular season schedule. SMU is going to pimp slap about 26 out of the 30 teams on their schedule.

Major baggage with Pollard. . . Serving 2 years probation, while his mother is serving 25 for kidnapping.

Apparently House is visiting A&M. I thought he wasn't allowed to transfer to a Texas school?

Word is that Pollard chose UH for its outstanding chemical engineering program. Immediately eligible and basically replace House, if not an upgrade.
