It does seem like Sampson has done a decent job in trying to recover from the situation the he walked into.

The benefits for Houston and SMU are already evident. SMU is wrapping up renovations on its basketball arena, Moody Coliseum, which had its official unveiling Saturday against UConn. Houston is about to start construction on a basketball practice facility and will undertake renovations on almost five-decade old Hofheinz Pavilion when the practice facility is completed.
