Most suspect that the committee engages in clandestine NASA type activities by cutting off and disrupting all forms of communications attempted by the SMU coaching staff with football recruits. This effectively reduces the committee's work load and insures the class remains devoid of commitments.

Sounds like a Texas lean.
:?

SMU is the only one he mentions really liking the coach. Remaining comments similar for all.

OK, it is a bit of reading the tea leaves but...
Texas: “It’s in my backyard. Hopefully I can come down there and make an impact like Kevin Durant did. If I were to be able to do that, it would be pretty cool.”

This was a bit unique: "hopefully I can". Texas is given the "in my backyard" check box like SMU.
He seemed to try to say positive things about each but to my ear, that is a Texas lean. Now how much influence his parents have on that lean is the question.

Had Houston hired Lucas, Turner could have ended up a Coog. Lucas is very close to Turner. Not sure how close tristatecoog is to Lucas, but tristatecoog has a good reputation on this board.

FWIW, tristatecoog doesn't usually blow smoke. He's a good poster on PFs

Why not hire John Lucas at SMU to replace Snow? Hmm

Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self will meet with blue-chip high school prospect Myles Turner today in Texas, several recruiting sites have reported....

It's not like he hasn't don't this before. He gave Danny Mannings dad a job to get him to come to KU.

He gave JMM a scholly to lock up eman.

LB is very shrewd in this regard, so if he did this, I wouldn't be shocked at all.
