The USA/Texas team at the Global Games had a disappointing 2 point loss to Puerto Rico. Our boy Pat Simpson (incoming freshman from CO for those of you that have been living under a rock) didn't get alot of PT. He went 1-2 from the floor and (keeping with SMU style) 0-2 from the charity stripe. I'll still have hope. He is young. This is going to be a good learing experience for him.

PS - The Global Games is an international tournament in Moody Coliseum. The teams this year are from Puerto Rico, Senegal, Yugoslavia, Germany, Lithuania, USA/Texas, and the USA national team.

The remaining games are as follows:

July 24th
4pm Lithuania vs Puerto Rico
6pm Senegal vs Yugoslavia
8pm USA/Texas vs Germany

7-25
4pm PR vs Senegal
6pm Yugo. vs USA/TX
8pm Lith. vs USA (exihbition)

7-26
4pm Senegal vsGermany
6pm Lith. vs USA/TX
8pm Yugoslavia vs USA (exhibition)

7-28 @ Loos Field House
4pm consoloation
6pm Bronze medal game
8pm Gold Medal Game

The USA Nat'l team has players from Duke, Michigan, Mich St., Georgetown, UCLA, Illinois, BC, St. Joe's, etc. They should be fun to watch.

Yugoslavia has a really tall team and they pass the ball around to get the easy shot.

Beat Puerto Rico by 20 and Germany by 18 in the last two days.

Could be the class of the tourny.

Never knew the Serb's were so gifted!!!!!

Global Games cont.

Pat got very little PT today. He played 2 minutes, no shot attempts, 2 boards. USA/TX lost by 4. Very poor and rushed shot selection. Will Bynam was a little out of control. Keith Langford (my hometown boy) was good.

The USA Nat'l team however waxed Lithuania. 113-64. Carlos Boozer kills. Very impressive.

Someone else is gonna have to take my place tomorrow. I'm gonna be watching the Rangers of yore in funkytown.
