Got to give him credit. This must have really been an issue.

I don't think it's an issue so much as a quick, easy fix. There are no problems of providing additional meals of athletes who are required to compete for their scholarships while at the same time it probably won't break the bank for even smaller schools who have kids on scholarship.

This was a common sense solution to a common fixable problem.

Was in the works months before Napier said anything. Has nothing to do with it.

That's the spin they are putting on it. I guess when they decided to approve better insurance and stipends they'll say that it was in the works for the past 5 decades.

True but this clearly was. Can you find any article dated months back stating they were going to vote on this issue to prove your point? Again, let's see what they do about insurance and stipends.

Athletes are still entitled to student loans and many use the loan money to address all the issues raised by Shabazz to supplement their athletic scholarships.

Loans for food for helping a school get millions for winning a national championship. Glad they stopped treating food like cars. Is the dining hall open on the weekend?

Shabazz was not forced to play for UCONN this year He was a Senior. I guess he didn't think he was good enough to Play for PAY

Evil NCAA Slave Master: WHIP!!!!
Thank You Sir
May I have Another
WHIP

The argument lacks substance especially from a damn Senior. His earning capacity was not being limited by the NCAA. In fact, if anything he used UCONN and the NCAA as a platform to increase his professional earning capacity. Thank you very much. The only ones that have any legitimate argument are First year freshman BB players and Freshman/Sophomore football players. All the rest are free to go when they damn well please.

I think Shabazz was speaking out for the other players who are not good enough to make the pros. If not for Shabazz the AAC which includes SMU would not be getting the extra money for them winning the NCAA Championship so you better be glad he came back. Glad he did not go by the company lime. I expect more changes to come.

How are these free meals/snacks regulated? Can we start giving all of our players takeout from Al Biernats and Nick and Sams? Could be a handy recruiting tool....

The walk ons can now eat at the athletic dining table now as well. Good for them because those guys work hard. Nick Saban is usually pretty creative with these types of things so yes I would imagine that it could be used in a positive recruiting manner by wealthier schools.

*Pops briefcase open and turns it around. In are hundreds of Fruit Rollups of various flavors.*

You could have all this and more if you play for me.
