Reunion Arena
1999 Western Conference Finals
Dallas Stars vs. Colorado Avalanche

Not sure any arena in Dallas has ever been as loud, especially Game 7. The AAC will never be that loud (roof is too high). Moody probably has the best chance to equal that.

My dad was at the brawl game between the Wings and the Avs, said that place was a nut house. Just incredible atmosphere I guess. Man those were fun days, the Western Conference was so loaded and all those teams HATED each other. The Blues were another one, them and the Stars definitely went their fair share of rounds. I hated those Avs teams though, Claude Lemioux and the goon crew.

I agree with what you say about the AAC roof being too high but Monday was different. If anyone wants to experience it I'm sure tonight will be the same. Check Stubhub. Only games that come close is the Sunday Massacre against the Lakers - game 4 of the 2011 playoffs, and games 4 and 5 of the Finals against the Heat.

Back to SMU, next season at Moody will be electric and must see. I hope we get one more quality OOC opponent in Moody - Baylor?

Perkins Natatorium in a duel meet against USC was probably the loudest at SMU. Verizon Center against the Rangers with the "we are louder" theme was downright insane and deafining. Both places probably topped 125 decibels.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Yeah, but when they sober up about Tuesday or so, they do not recall how loud they were. Some of the most "game prep" fans I have ever witnessed.

And I know when events are fresh in your mind they seem to be grander but two venues in the last few months stick out as being the loudest, most raucous I can ever remember. Crazy thing is what the events were - SMU basketball and Dallas Stars hockey. Never in my life did I think I would say that and be serious, but it's true.

Moody was flat out insane the last few games this year. As an SMU fan, I'm extremely proud of that and I hope it carries on into next season, which I have no doubt it will. The AAC last night was just as crazy. Like at Moody this year, the crowd was buzzing the entire game and it never let up. We all know Dallas loves a winner but SMU basketball and Stars hockey, who woulda thunk it?

I totally agree with you. I too was at the Stars game on Monday night, and every home basketball game and both venues were electric. Dallas likes a winner and once they have a winner, they will support it. BUT, once the winner starts losing, they scatter fairly quickly.

How about Bristol Motor Speedway?
43 race cars trapped in a bullring stadium located in "Thunder Valley."

If anyone on his board enjoys auto racing, the Night Race at Bristol is a blast.

LSU vs. Florida 2007. Nighttime at Death Valley.

When USC lost to Stanford, the stadium lost its mind.
