McQuaid reopens commitment

Postby ponyfan37 » Sun Jul 20, 2014 4:56 pm

@ScottSanford67: Per @EvanDaniels, #SMU commit Matt McQuaid will reopen his recruitment. Would be a huge loss for SMU if he decides to commit elsewhere.

Probably looking at the logjam at his position after the VT transfer. With Emelogu and KF at that position, how much PT could he get as a freshman? These are thoughts that may go through his head

Hope he realizes that LB will turn him into an NBA-ready star and stays committed and determined to beat those guys out for a starting role.

Should have signed Cornish when we had the chance to in my opinion.

Until I hear otherwise I am going to trust Brown. He may have someone else targeted, and be recruiting over McQuaid.

Of course there could be false negative recruiting going on that speculates SMU is being investigated and he should get away from us.

When a kid "reopens" recruitment, from an historical perspective, is he pretty much gone - or is there an outside chance he re-commits?

With the EM issue and now McQuaid let's hope this doesn't turn into a domino effect and we lose more top level recruits.

We only have one left that has verbally commited. Sedrick Barefield in 2015. Not many more we could lose

Especially because PG is a position in which we desperately need depth. We will have Nic and that's it
