According to the DMN, we sold over $350,000 worth of beer and wine at the 13 home basketball games.............

The margin on beer & wine sales is typically about 71% so SMU grossed a little under $250K before any additional expenses were incurred.

Yeah, but take into consideration the gunfights in the stands. Kind of negates the profit.

Would have sold even more if there were more stations and they didn't run out in a couple of games too...

Got to think that at those prices, margin was a smidge higher

(not complaining about the prices at all, mind you)

This was on an abbreviated season at Moody as well. It will be more this year.

There will be a couple of extra beer stands next year and I've heard that the program expects that dollar figure to get closer to $1M.

Definitely need more insurance and may need more security but sounds like a very healthy profit.

Also, need to move the cutoff mark to 10 minutes in the 2nd half and not 15.

agreed. Too many times last year where I forgot about the early cutoff. You need time to sit in the halftime line, down that halftime beer, and then return for your final ice cold beer.

Anyone think that the keg rule will be changed before next season, or will it be cans all fall?

I was not a Math major but enjoyed Statistics. Here is a little math for you:

$350,000 sales
$7 average cost per drink
11 home/moody games
equates to 4545 drinks sold per game
7000 attendees per game
that equates to about .65 drinks per fan per game

There were people in my section that drank more than .65

Ready for some Boulevarding/football to start and can't hardly wait for BB. Go Mustangs!
