Ben Moore, Sterling Brown Selected To U.S. Global Sports Academy Goodwill Tour Team
Tour Begins August 11; Includes Games In Belgium, Germany, England and the Netherlands

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (SMU) --- The Global Sports Academy named Ben Moore and Sterling Brown to its U.S. team for the 2014 Men’s Basketball Goodwill Tour. The tour is August 11-19 with games in Belgium, Germany, England and the Netherlands. The goal of the GSA is “education, good will and sportsmanship through sports.â€
Brown started 26 of 37 games for SMU as a freshman, averaging 4.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Moore played in all 37 games as a freshman, averaging 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 61.3 percent from the field.
The duo helped the Mustangs to a 27-10 record that included an NIT title game appearance. SMU was ranked in the top 25 in four of the last five weeks of the regular season. SMU finished tied for third in the inaugural season of the American Athletic Conference, going 12-6 with two wins over eventual NCAA Champion Connecticut as well as home victories over Cincinnati and Memphis. The Mustangs were one of five teams from The American ranked in the final week of the regular season.
Global Sports Academy is a not-for-profit organization created to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels. The major goal is to "Promote International Goodwill" and better understanding between nations through sports. With Global Sports Academy, student-athletes experience the thrill of international sports competition, attend cultural events and see the historical sites of the world.
Global Sports Academy (“GSAâ€) has been participating in domestic and international competition since 1991. It has grown to support 12 different sports that compete in 25 different countries.
