Counting on TCU - how scary

Postby whatasteve » Mon Mar 25, 2002 9:24 pm

Word is that TCU is announcing today the hiring of Kansas assistant coach Neil Doherty as its new basketball head coach. Since Peruna Punch has sold me out as a transplanted East Coast-er, you might guess I'm a Maryland Terrapins fan. Hopefully the hoopla surrounding Doherty's flirting with the Little Froggies will disrupt Kansas enough that my Terps can get another typical Kansas performance from the Jayhawks. Either that, or maybe I can hope that Roy Williams once again demonstrates his ability to take a team full of All-America talent and teaches them to choke in big games. (They sure haven't shown any indication yet that this year's team is likely to do that, though...)

You need a good burger to calm your nerves Whatasteve....of course a few good drinks wouldn't hurt either. Whoever wins, it still ought to be a great game to watch.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

A good burger might come into play, but rest assured that if Maryland makes the championship game -- which of course is far from guaranteed -- there will be many drinks involved. Either to celebrate like a drunken loon or to drown my sorrows. Can't believe I'm going to miss the semifinal game....
