New assistant coach

You can tell from my profile that I live in our nation's capital. Therefore, in addition to my loyalty to SMU, I'm also a fan of the Maryland Terrapins and the Virginia Cavaliers. So it pains me to see the hiring of a Duke alum. However, if he can bring the success and attitude that's present at Cameron Indoor Arena, then it's a great hire. That story on the home page certainly makes it sound like he's a valuable asset. Coach Dement seems to think very highly of him.

So is Brickey's primary role as a recruiter? Or does he have a specialty that he'll be able to share with the team (defensive specialist, working with big men, zone defense, etc.)?

Sounds like a good hire, and if he's not the lead assistant, maybe Coach Dement has another hot prospect waiting in the wings?
I don't like Duke either, but it can't hurt to have a little of that influence running around Moody.
